Textures and critters, Lost Coast (May '10)

Well, that's more or less the contents here...

The Lost Coast is very windy

wacky conglomerate

I love driftwood....

I tried taking some pictures of the ocean through
my polarized sunglasses because the many shades of
blue were fantastic... the results, not so much

Sponge? Coral? Something?

Sea urchin... I'll be spending a lot more time
trying to perfect this photo

I think this quail did have a full complement of legs
maybe he's grooming his feathery butt

Wild turkey being chased by a blackbird

(evidence of) black bears on the beach!

Artistic seaweed arrangement

Maybe I'll get around to editing the rest of my photos from my May Lost Coast trip soon...

Trinity Alps...

... or I ♥ Beargrass.

Hallelujah! Aside from a few odd photos I'm going to fiddle with at my leisure, I'm done editing the pictures from my last adventure.  After a breather, maybe I'll tackle some more of the enormous backlog.

Trinity River, I think. Or maybe Coffee Creek.

Xerophyllum tenax
(beargrass)

Mugshots of a Viola

Two spots on Bear Creek

The headwall at Big Bear Lake... I made it about as
far as the end moraine... there was too much snow
to make the effort worth it

Sarcodes sanguinea
(snow plant)

No clue.

Cultural detritus

Bobbie + Dwayne 1965

Probably not true

The name of this establisment evokes
unfortunate imagery
